What is the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)?

The Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) is part of the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), which is part of the Department of Justice. The BIA reviews decisions made by immigration judges that have been appealed by ICE or the person ICE is trying to deport. The BIA's own decisions can usually be appealed to federal court.
